Our Path To Adoption
August 29, 2011: informational meeting at Catholic Charities
August 30, 2011: we turn in our forms to CC and are officially committed!
September 8, 2011: fingerprint check (we passed...whew!)
October 3, 2011: meet with our counselor Laura and receive paperwork
October 20, 2011: police record checks (passed!)
October 22, 2011: first home study group meeting at CC, meet 9 other adoptive couples, hear from birthparents
October 27, November 4, 2011: doctor visits, medical reports completed
November 5, 2011: second home study group meeting at CC, hear from adoptive family and adult adoptee
December 7, 2011: Home visit completed.
December 21, 2011: Turned in our profile books and last pieces of information. We are officially waiting!

Out of the harsh winds of the past months came blessing and hope yesterday. No guarantees but encouragement nonetheless.
